It feels good to actually wake up early and make my own breakfast. Food usually tastes so much better when you put in effort to prepare it yourself. Though it’s just the same old cereal with bananas and strawberries in mixed white and chocolate milk, it just tastes different. I wonder when was the last time I cooked a proper meal… hmmm… I think was last year, one day after skating with Jess. When she did the meat patty and French bean thingy, and I cooked the bitter gourd soup. Haha. Tonnes of praises for her patty, none for my soup. Eek.
Maybe I shall find time to cook and invite people over for dinner or something. Any takers? Haha.
Went down Whitley to give out the consent forms. Had a short chat with Mrs Singh. Good thing that she still remembers me… Haha. Still remember the time when she used to say, “Come my dear Vincent, could you please continue reading the story for us?”
And the lines and lines of “To kill a mocking bird” and “The Crucible” will be rattled. Thought I used to not really like it then, but surely now, I would have to thank her for making me do that. All thanks to her, I managed a decent B for the Os. If not, haha. An F would be inevitable.
Met the Scouts near the chin up bar area, and to my dismay there were only 6 Scouts who turned up for today’s briefing. Was expecting more, but I guess we’ll have to wait till Friday to see the full response.
These days, new boys are given reimbursements for their Scouts Uniforms. Same goes for the other uniform groups. Fifty bucks! Just why didn’t the ministry implement that 8years back. FIFTY BUCKS! That’s one big fat blue note mind you.
Had lunch at the canteen (again) and met Eugene and Shelly. Was rather surprised to see them there and they were in their college uniforms. Just back from college I guess. Chatted about some JC stuff, GP and Chinese as I had my rice and Shel ate her Loh Mai Kai. Said bye when mum called on the cell and went homebound.
Had the sudden urge to exercise in the early afternoon but I know I can’t run and jog or skip or hop or… anything to do with the legs. So, decided to pack my bag and head down to the gym. Everyone’s so concerned about their muscle size there, and you can see them glancing at each other’s chest muscles and biceps, and then turning to their own.
It makes me think that gyming has turned into an obsession to some of them, rather than an exercise to keep fit.
Did training of the upper body, and tried some light weights on the legs. And certainly, I think my legs are really wasted. As in, they can’t even lift halve the weights I used to lift couple of months back. Think I need more time to recuperate. Sighs. But owells! =)
Hurried down to J8 after the workout to meet up Eric for “Over the Hedge”. Really nice and heartwarming show. Just right for the kids. Bought some sushi and chocolate milk before we went in. Good thing that I brought a bag. Wouldn’t be able to bring in any contraband if not for the bag. =)
Eric’s going on a school camp coming Thursday, and he’s so hyped up about it. A leadership camp for the prefects. It’s funny to see him keep asking how many shirts and underwear he should bring, and what kind of torchlight he should get. Hope that he has fun. I think he will. No doubt about it.
Send him to the interchange after the movies. Got a call from Weiyi. I think we still gonna stick to the old plans for the benefit of everyone. Just have to try and convince Ms Chong now.
And for the night, went down to Bishan North and had my 1st conversational Malay lesson. Quite an interesting teacher. Highly qualified. Nice class. Funny students. And a woo-hooo eye candy. And now, I’ve got homework to do. Memorizing the words can be quite a feat. Hopefully I get the hang of it soon, and that one day I’ll understand what our neighbors are talking about. Haha.
Happy birthday mei. May you walk in God’s faith forever. All the best! *hugs*
Selamat tidur everyone!
