Enough?

Everyone is a creation of God. We all are. Our family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even the strangers beside you are all creations. We’re all wonderfully crafted, and uniquely created. Each of us blessed with a special ability and calling.

People are placed amongst people, so that they can learn from each other, and grow. The difference in personality and opposing characteristics somehow complements each other’s lives. Many a times when we see someone we detest, we tend to convince ourselves that he is a failure, and we would want to stay away from him, as far as possible. And then we’ll turn to God and ask him, “Who is this? One of your creations? What were you thinking?”

But who are we to judge? Are we up to it to actually label one another? Are we competent enough to be His ‘quality check’ employee? I bet not.

I believe that there’s a reason why we are placed together, as a family, as friends, as neighbors, as colleagues or even as strangers who walk past each other day in, day out. We’re all there for a reason. God wants to bless us all. And we are blessed by having all those people around us.

Do not be hasty to judge who is helpful, or who are useless. Rather, be patient and learn to appreciate what He has planned for us. Learn how to see the goodness in others, their qualities and their gifts. Be grateful of them, and we should love them as we love ourselves.

Many times, we are not able to see how we are actually blessed by having one person beside us. And also, we would curse those who have scarred us in our lives in one way or another. But little did we realise, that everything is actually part and parcel of life, and there are lessons to be learnt in every wrong turn or every missed step.

Therefore, do not hate one person for whatever unhappiness he has brought upon you, for it is in His plans, that there’s something for you to experience in that situation. Like any layman would say, “Everything happens for a reason. We just have to find out what it is.” I think it very much explains it.

………………………..”

And I can’t really remember the rest of the sermon. Left out a few details here and there as it was in Chinese. That was yesterday’s service. And it sank quite a bit into me.

Sometimes it’s hard to do the right thing. Ain’t it? And sometimes we don’t even know if we’re doing the right things. We’re not saints, we’re not angels. We can only try our best. And I guess, that is enough.
