I thought I was about to be late when I woke. Supposed to meet Ber (shall stop calling her darling in case people get jealous. Oops!) at City Hall at 10. Turned out that I was early and she turned up at 10.50. Haha. Owells. =)
Accompanied her to Kelly services to have her name registered at the agency. It’s an agency that helps job-seekers find jobs, and be the middle man and link up the potential employer with the potential employee. It’s amazing how a company can make a living doing this. There were so many staff and workers at the office. Imagine the turnover of the company!
Went for $2 Nasi Lemak at a hawker centre nearby. Thought it was quite a good bargain. Apart from the rice (which was green because of the pandan I think) and the usual cucumber and Ikan Bilis, customers get to choose from fried fish, chicken wing, or chicken drumstick, plus a slice of luncheon meat and a stick of Otah. Sounds good doesn’t it? The other stalls there looked appealing too. Little wonder why it got so darn packed by 12. Everyone was just standing around waiting for seats.
It just felt weird when I stepped out of Tanjong Pagar station. Before we went to Kelly services, the roads there somehow felt familiar. I’ve been here not long ago. I knew I had. Just then, I saw ‘Anson Road’. And then I recalled. It’s the place where she used to work at. For this health product company. Anson road. And the last time I was here was last year, Valentine’s day. Where I gave her the dress in this silver box filled with petals. Owells. Have yet to see her put it on.
That road name’s so drilled in me, cause it was the very address I sent the bouquet to. And that bouquet I never saw, and I never will. But all is past and the sands have settled. Something to look back, but never to pick up.
2 of us met Hoon for lunch at Caltex. Happen to be in the vicinity. Lunch was at this really clean looking Jap restaurant. 2 of us shared tofu and a bowl of curry chicken don. Hoon had her chicken don. Met hoon’s friend. Wendy right? Yups. Remember seeing her in one of Hoon’s photos. Yups.
And thanks Hoon. We’re now surplus and dispensable right? So much for “accompanying” you for lunch. How grateful! *Bleah!* haha.
Went walking at Life Bookshop at J8. Bought a book. ‘His Promises’. Didn’t take me long to decide if I should purchase it. Just knew I had to get it. Wonder why. Oh, and the cashier looked real sweet. Oops. My guess, Uni student on exam breaks. She just reminds me of someone. Just can’t remember who. Ha!
Accompanied mum to the Chinese doc to see her shoulders and my ever killing knee. Had a long talk with mum while waiting. I everyone likes to talk. Regardless of what topic, we just like to open our mouth, interact, and share intellects.
There’s always a time to talk, and a time to listen. We all like to talk. But when would we really listen? We all want to make our emotions and ideas known. But how much effort do we put in to understand the feelings and thoughts of others?
Let’s talk less, listen more.
Yet to get back my Bible. Wondering how’s she doing. God knows.
