Looks

It’s really funny how people can actually make a living by looking good, looking sexy, having muscles and nice bodies.

Those Hwood stars, supermodels walking down the runways, handsome looking people selling their face to advertisement companies, so on and so forth. Sometimes it really makes me wonder, what is it all about?

Why are we all so engrossed in the outer appearance? Why do we always fight to look young? Why are we afraid of turning old? What’s with this appeal of good looking people on the posters by the bus stops?

First impression counts, many would say. But how long does 1st impression lasts? How can we judge how formidable one is just by looking at his appearance?

Never judge a book by its cover, people say. Yet how many of us jump straight into judging one by his/her outer layers once we have out eyes set upon?

Reality is, we judge by the skin. And that’s ugly.

Why not let our eyes look deeper into the people we see each day. Let us not lay our comments five seconds after we see them - it takes more than that.

Keep the comments and appraisals to ourselves. Judge no one, as who are we to judge in the first place? Perhaps one day, one moment, that person you once made a comment upon might haul your narrow perceptions out of the window.

Look in the mirror before we talk badly about the rest. How perfect are we? Flawed like a shattered glass. Ain’t it?
