no time.

No time no time!! Exams are coming. Next Tuesday to be exact. 6 papers in all (not 7 Alv, realized one has got no exams. Haha.) So dead. All the hair falling, lack of sleep, lack of blood circulation to the brain, everything. Horrible. Feels like all the monsters and demons are attacking again.

In these coming weeks, so much is about to happen. Wish me luck people. I think I need plenty of it.

--

CM: Haha… My JP book is collecting dust?? Sorry ah… meet up after my exams k? I finished all the Friends! No more entertainment for me… how? Haha.

PE: Fun right? Ask people how old they are. Maybe next time we upgrade: ask for phone numbers. You and Ber can ask the waiters. I can try the waitresses. =)

Otts: Hang in there! Bet you must be super tanned and super fit now. *whistles*

Ber: International Econs SUCKS. So does math and physics. Die together k?

China girl: You should try and sleep early. Well, come to think of it, you don’t have to. All the TLC you’re getting. TSK. I’m jealous. HAH.

RT: 7-1 is what we call TAI-KO. You know it. TAI-KO.

Ray: Have fun at OBS!

Jess: Email you after my exams? Sorry. Oh I got an email from Jenje. =)

Jo: You hang in there too! Your blog is starting to look scary. Hope everything’s good.

Somehow, I don’t know what’s going on. Yes or no? Urgh. I need divine interventions.

Forgive me Lord.

Monday, April 2

He's still sleeping!

The remaining photos from that Sunday. Thanks Ber. =)

lovely people.

that's me.

Back from the last Material Science tutorial. Magnetic properties and electrical conductivity… Urgh. Why can’t things be kept simple like how it was in A and O levels? Stuff like, “does like-poles attract or repel?”, “wood are poor-conductors, metal are good-conductors, so which is more suitable for the pot, which for the handle?” NOOOoooooo! Now, “calculate the saturation magnetic flux, remenance, coercitivity of the system”, “the thermal conductivity of a plain carbon steel is greater than for a stainless steel. Why is this so?” Urgh.

Oh, remember what our secondary school physics teacher taught us how to demagnetize a temporary magnet? Hammering it or throwing it on the floor many times? Ever knew why? “Jarring by repeatedly dropping the magnet will cause the magnetic dipoles to rotate and become misaligned… and the force accredited to the magnet destroys its long range order.” Get it? Bah!

It’s almost noon now and roomie’s still in his bed. Think he was supposed to have a lecture at 1130am. Take my hat off him. He’s one mad nutcase. Someday, his alarm clock and cell phone would end up at the ground floor – threw down by me or himself. Haha.

Got pranked last night. April first. It was kinda dumb and should have saw it coming. But I guess the lazy brain wasn’t exactly working at that hour. Felt so idiotic. Nice one man. Nice one. Heys, I’m getting bullied these few days. And I wonder why. Tsk tsk.

Met up with PE and Ling at Ling’s place on Thursday. Had dinner and walked around J8 for a bit. Sat at Beans for a while. PE was helping out with Ling’s new laptop. Trying to figure out how to make that ‘window’ go away. Haha. I guess that little square box on the screen made the both of them really pek cek.

Sat at the benches in front of Cheers and did a couple of questions from the physics tutorial whist waiting. But turned out it was a wrong guess and had to walk to the other side. Wrong guess of solutions too. But everything turned out great at the end. Sandwiches the following day never tasted better. =)

Spent Friday morning doing some physio, gave tuition in the afternoon, and mugged for the rest of the evening. Went swimming with dad at AMK before heading to aunt’s place. Flew down to the Netball Association, thinking that I was going to be late. But turned out I was 15 mins early. Guess I really flew. Had Mee Goreng and Nasi Bryani. Funny guy gave us 3 forks and 1 spoon.

“Bang, like that how to eat?” *laughters*

I wonder why they laughed. Maybe was the way I held the utensils. Maybe was my face. I don’t know.

Learnt something new that night. Clarified that Jesus wasn’t born in Palestine. Instead, Bethlehem – Judea.

Spent Saturday studying, tuitioning, and walking round J8 and Hub again. It was good to have your company. Maybe next time we can try and persevere longer? Hahas. Make full use of the seats and the $6 we spend on coffee. =) Went out of my mind and drove down to Orchard at twelve midnight. But I’m glad I did it. Dropped Carol off at SK. She seemed to know EVERY single song on 93.3. Another hyper girl. No wonder there’re no dull moments with her around. Rolled back to Ave3 and that really made my day.

Woke up to dark clouds on Sunday morning, but still we headed to the court. Played a couple before it drizzled. Spent almost 2 hours sitting there and chatting while the rain poured. Amazing things we can conjure up.

Went to church early to finish up the physics revision. Met ZW and Huihui and started talking about 300. I should really catch it soon, before it ceases. Anyone wants to watch it? And oh, both of them think TMNT sucked! The green terrorists have failed to capture their imaginations! =)

Alrights. It’s going to be a really fast week. REALLY fast. Have a nice week ahead people. Especially the weekends! Good Friday and Easter. God bless all!

Erms, PE, Ling, Alv, free for supper this Friday? 2230hrs. Please sms me. Yups. Ber and I are thinking of Holland V. I’m driving btw. =)

Post 23rd

Yes yes… I’ve been getting complaints that I’m not updating often enough. But hey, some of you are not updating yours too! TSK. Why shooting me only? =p

Well, just wanna say a very big THANKS to all those out there who wished me well on the 23rd. Feel so blessed. Thanks people!

All the sms, emails, calls, cards and gifts. Thank you thank you!

Ott & Jo: Thanks dearies. We need to meet up SOON. You two are like super busy la. Hope the studies and training are coming along great. One’s getting smarter, one’s getting fitter. Not bad ah. =)

Eric: Thanks bro, for wishing me well in the Lab. Haha. Good thing that we left early that day. It’s a great gift in its own way. Haha. Hope the crapping was good at the ADM toilet. Whhhoooooooooooops!

Enje: Yes I’m reaching the mid-twenties soon. That would very much justify my calling Uncle. But you’re no where better alright? *evil laughters*

Randy: Thanks a lot. But I don’t think I want whatever you wished for me to come true. Haha. It’s quite gross. GROSS!

Sheng: So touch-ed. Really. Didn’t expect it. Seriously.

Joel & Liting: Thanks for the Carbernet Merlot. It’s a 2001!!! Goodness! Appreciate it.

JMT: haha! I think you’ve got quite cool initials! JMT. Didn’t realize that till now. =) thanks for the email… I guess it’s my turn now, for being lousy at correspondence. But I guess it’s alright ya? We’re nice people right? Right. I’m not sure about coffee… might be stuck in the bed. Haha. We’ll see?

CM: I’m so sorry Patterson’s cost less as compared to Kinsella’s. But thanks anyway. The 5th Horseman right? I’m glad that you actually remembered. Heart-felt. Let me know when you’re free alright? Maybe we can meet for bucks or something. =) Xoxo.

Ms Huang: Sorry ah, no char-siew chee chong fun that night. Hope the plain one was good enough. And I wanted teh-peng leh. Not milo peng. Haha. K, we shall blame the uncle. Thanks for the shirt, and everything else. =)

6ists: I think I don’t really have to say much right? Thanks. And thank God for blessing me with you people. It’s gonna be a rather special year this year. One’s in China now, one for France in June, another one to the States. Stick it out ya? Looking forward to the next meet-up. I hope it’s not daidee or bridge at my bedside. HAHA.

-

Dinner yesterday was fun. With sausages, crepes, pastas, pizzes, snapples, beer, bens & jerry’s and many little cups of water. Seeing Hoon online is really kinda fun. Seriously. Everyone was just hanging round the place waiting for her to come online, and crappy things started happening. Like erm, “PE… NOOOOOO… don’t suck my cup!”.

Right. Don’t bother asking me about the cup incident cause it’s gonna take a very long time to explain the entire thing. But Hoon, you can ask Alvin if you want. But I guess he’s already told you. RIGHT? You still owe me a birthday song by the way.

Thanks again people. It was fantastic. Really.

PS: I’m kinda regretting not taking photos with the poster girl with armpit hair. It would so out of this world. Haha. And ya, we should have taken a photo with Hoon. That we shall do next time!

--

Okay. A made a little boo-boo the on my previous post. My operation’s on the 3rd. Not the 2nd. It’s on the first Thursday of the week. Yups. I’m going around everywhere, telling people to come visit me! Haha. So here I am again, PLEASE drop by if you’re free. Haha. I’m gonna be so bored. =)

Oh, I sprained my knee again yesterday. How nice right? Had to run for the bus like a half-crippled last night. Urgh.

--

Hmmm… it was nice having coffee and lemon zest once again. You weren’t late la. I was just a bit early. I don’t think I’ve helped you much, because your work requires quite a bit of research and I’ve got very limited knowledge in this area. But if you need help in any other ways, I’ll be very glad to help. Yups! =)

By the way, I don’t think I’m that smart and I speak that well. I guess, the reason why there was nothing you could say, because you realize that whatever I said actually makes sense! Right? I think I merely stated the facts and spoke the truth… and the truth cannot be rebuked. Agree? So why not put some thought about the truth, and think about what life is really all about? *grins*

Life is bitter-sweet at times, and perhaps maybe even ambiguous. But one things for sure, if you know what you want in life, then all those gray areas would be lighted up, and your path would have no dark, unclear corners or bends.

Once again, if you want to know how you want to live your life, you must first know how you want to leave this world. Think about it!

--

Caught Mr Bean with Eric yesterday. Made him put on the shades whilst waiting for the bus for the fun of it. Goodness it fits nicely. That’s when I realized that his head’s as wide as mine. And it actually looks kinda good on him. Hahah.

Bean was funny, and a great show for the little ones. I was laughing at Eric more than at Bean la. He would be rolling on the floor if we hadn’t been watching at the cinemas. Just too bad that we were sitting RIGHT at the front. Our heads nearly fell off our necks.

Oh, Ling and PE, I still think TMNT is… not nice. Haha. I still like the cartoons.

Donatello and Michaelangello right?

“they look like terrorists”, so says Alv. Hahaha.

--

Had tuition with the new kid, Jolene. (not you JO. Hur hur. But she’s cute too la. Hahaah…) think she’s rather bright, like her brother. Just that she ain’t confident with herself. Wondering how to instill confidence. Hmmmm……

--

Dishwalla’s still running on my laptop and I’m drinking A&W from a straw. Sweet tooth over-timing today. Shall get on with my chores and start mugging. Have a great week ahead people… Don’t let the Monday blues hit you!

A Card, a Cross and a Cake

Last week's Botak outing. Top: my double botak w Cheese. Mid: SY & Rick. Bot: Eric & I.

Have I already mentioned that I’ve finally got my CD’s? And the new bag. Gifts for myself this birthday. Hahas. The bag rocks. Thought it’s already a little dirty. It’s quite interesting how Rick and the guys could actually have a discussion on how a Crumpler should be slinged. By the side? Or cross the chest? Haha. either works for me I guess.

And oh, those 2 Dishwalla CDs. My oh my. Probably the best CD’s I have. Wonder why they don’t sell it here. No no. Actually they do. But at $48 for one album, it’s kinda crazy. Got the 2 for $65 at amazon.com. Hooray!

Was reading the news on CNN.com yesterday. A baby was born after his father was dead for 2 years. Well, on the first read, I thought it was going to be some sorta freak/miraculous kind of news. But turns up that baby’s mum conceived through father’s sperm which was kept in the sperm bank before he went to war in Iraq. Miracle? Guess it very much depends on how you look at it.

There’re so much implications, so many issues here if you were to put some thought into it. But just plain looking at it superficially, I think it is a really sweet and brave thing for the mum to do. Raising her child all alone, conceiving the child in the first place for the love of her husband. It is wow.

But still, I wonder is this a right?

Well, I’ll leave that to God. There are many things in our lives that we cannot fine explanations, and we often engage ourselves in certain activities without knowing the reasons why. But that’s how life is I guess. Not going to let tomorrow’s worries bother me. For today has got its own troubles. Or so says Jess: “be prepared to be wowed each day”. Sums it all up.

And so this week started with the Materials Science test. Guess I did okay, probably a B+ or A-. Thing was, everyone thought they could have done better. My inclusive. It’s kinda sucky when you take a test and you don’t know where you actually got wrong. The learning process is lost here. But owells. That’s how it goes around here in NTU. Getting along with it.

Abandoned Joel on Monday evening and went for tuition. Got an sms from Sheng. She was having this problem with her tuition kid. Kinda funny. Haha. oops! Went back home, did some work and prepared for Tuesday evening. It was gonna be a short 15-20mins, but there’s just so many things to consider. The place, the time, the stuff. Even the weather. Everything. It was a good thinking process though.

Got a ride to AH from Dad. Saw the surgeon and it’s confirmed that the surgery would be on 2nd May. People, please come visit me if you can. I’m gonna be there for 5 days. FIVE DAYS. I can’t imagine myself stuck in the bed for 5 days. I guess I’ll be clicking my laptop away. NO. wait. Do they allow laptops there in the first place?? Dang!

Gave tuition in the evening. Ran a little late and had to rush back to Bishan. Managed to be there on time. Guess everything went as planned. But… I don’t know. Having mixed feelings about it. Perhaps I’m expectant. But I think it comes down to the point, where I’m just too… URgh.

A card, a cross, a cake, a lighter, 2 candles and an MP3 player,

Yes my dear friend. Perhaps I should give myself a chance. It’s amazing how you can suck info out of me with the circumstances we have now. You really are good. =) it’s a trait that you ought to have huh?

Giving myself a chance now.

Oh, I’ve got my first birthday gift! Haha. But I guess it doesn’t it. Or rather I won’t fit it. XL? Haha. I’m not that huge, no? I’m big. But not exactly that big. Haha. oops. Thanks anyway, if you’re reading this.

--

Thanks Jo for helping me ask about that NS thingy. Haha. Called MIND*F and they were very nice to help me settle everything. THANKS! =)

--

Teengae mutant ninja turtles movie is opening on my birthday! Haha. Childhood memories! Well, reminiscence. RIGHT Ling? Haha. I can’t remember what you typed yesterday night, but I’m sure Joel and I had a VERY good laugh. Something like… remimise? YA. That’s it. REMIMISE. Oops!

--

No botak for lunch today. Eric’s having beef tonight. He’ll start barfing red meat if he went today. SY’s having it tonight. Rick’s probably still asleep. Haha. So, back to my staple. CAI FAN. Haha.

Have a great weekend ahead people. I know I will have a good one. Coffee tomorrow afternoon (I won’t be late!), dinner at home (it’s been a while), supper somewhere (fluttering again), church on Saturday and chilling out with the peeps after, basketball on Sunday, meeting up with the 6ixists, minus one who’s in China. We’ll Skype you. Don’t worry. Haha. Heard there’re more people coming. Goodie. Sheng u coming?

Last but not least, as you can see I’ve changed the template. And I kinda like it. But the thing is, the chatterbox is gone, and I’m too lazy to install it again. So, please leave comments at the bottom of the posts if you wanna tell me something alright?

Thanks a lot! God bless you nice people out there.

Sunday, March 18

huh?

I’m very very very sleepy and tired. What a way to start a new post. Been mugging quite a fair bit for the materials science test tomorrow morning, and all the crystals and metals and alloys are forming eutectically in my head. Not good not good. Totally drained. Sneaking in here to try and keep myself awake.

Let’s see… so what happened for the week. Somehow updating has become a weekly affair huh? ha. Let’s see. Monday, school, tuition, and last minute ‘date’ with a mean person. Tuesday, can’t really remember what went on, but I know I flunked my physics test. Wed, hmmm.. lunch at the Quad with the guys and got caught in the rain whilst walking back to hall. Thursday was happening, with 3 double botaks and a giant sausage. It was great. But too much of it makes you fart beef. Eric’s going to be crazy next week. Rick should drive, just in case. Did some corny storyboard with Sy, rick and ah-ya. So almost fell asleep during the presentation.

Friday, lab in the morning. Tried to finish it fast, and rushed down to camp to collect the DETIC file. Kinda waste of time. Could have done it through the mail. TSK. Met up with JH at coffee bean and started mugging my Mat science.

Had supper at HV. Took a couple of photos and everything was fantastic. Salmon salad, chicken mushroom burger, and the funny way of cutting food up. Well, what more could I ask for once again? Got kinda lost near Kallang. Stadium link, stadium road, stadium crescent. URgh.

Skipped tuition on Saturday morning. Went straight to the coffee place and mugged for Mat science. Sat there till my butt ached so bad and my vanilla latte turned warm. Walked around Northpoint and finally decided what I wanted to get. As when I got it, I couldn’t believe myself that I actually did get it. I must be out of my head to get something like. I think I’m crazy.

Went for the church gathering/discussions at 6. All the way till 10 we were engrossed in very informative and thought provoking discussions. What strength!

Rushed back home to have supper with dad. Had a couple of Erdingers, and went up to meet cousin CJ and Wende at their flat. Only got back home at 3am.

And so, here I am. Sleeping at 3, waking at 8, feeling like a zombie, went for morning service, sat at the coffee place and mugged, went down to Tampines to play ball with the hall seniors, and back to hall at 8. I’ve been reading so much of the textbook. Yet, I don’t know if I can actually tackle with the questions tomorrow. How nice.

Oh, I finally got my big, black, nasty crumpler. Brown was out of stock, and it’ll take MONTHS for the next batch to come. So settled with black. Not that bad I guess. Goes with everything.

Alrights. Back to the books.

Monday, March 12

Another week gone

Cousin Cindy & I. Been wanting to post this up. CHIO.

Alrights. Where was I. Long week has passed. Really long week. Mega-billions of cells died and half my hair (those on the head) were gone. 3 tests in one week. How nice is that.

First was physics. Totally screwed it up I think. Could only do 3 out of 5. And most infuriating was the solution of the other 2 questions popped right into my thick skull 5 minutes AFTER I stepped out of the room.

Then was math on Thursday. Think I got the first question correct and I having doubts in the second one. ‘Scheming old fart’ was how SY described him. Series, convergence, divergence, limits, roots, comparisons, power series, taylor series, Maclaurin series… URGH. They suck to the core. Guess what’s next? Multiple integrals. Remember when you the times when you did A math in secondary schools, or C math in JCs, or math in high schools or polys, and you come across this little ‘s’ looking symbol called the ‘integral’? And we use it to solve questions of integration? Well, guess what? ‘Multiple integrals’ means there’re MULTIPLES of them. How gross.

Rounded of the test week with the GV12:”Aesthetic and creative techniques in the moving images” module test. Well, as we thought it was going to be rather easy and we’re quite well prepared for it, I ended up writing 8 FULL pages of essay within 2 and a half hour, and Rick did 12 FULL pages within the same time. Did an approximate word count before handing in the script. And I was shell-shocked. There were no less than 4000 words on that paper I handed in. I cannot imagine how many words Rick had on his script. It’s pure insanity. I wonder how we did it.

Had our first drawing lab on Friday morning. 2 point perspective sketching. Once again, thinking it was easy, we entered the lab with joyous mood. Half way through we were sweating, and towards the end, we were cursing and swearing that darn radio. Didn’t really help when my nose decided to turn into a permanent mucus-tap.
Freaking Radio

Went for tuition in the afternoon and I’m starting to feel appreciated by her. It is so much different now, tutoring her as compared to a couple of years back. Really touched by her determination to do well.

Dropped by my aunt’s in the evening and hanged out for a while. Caught up with Timothy. He’s gonna do ‘tourism’ in SP. That’s really wonderful. Able to do something that he wants and he likes.

Drove the family back and took the car out for a spin. Went by Trinity to pick QQ up and had supper at Chomps. Bak chor mee and sugar cane. =)

Tried calling a couple of people out for drinks after that. ( I mean coffee/tea.. not beer/wine). But to no avail. End up reaching home before midnight and realized how tired I was. Knocked out at 1+am - the earliest time I’ve slept in the entire week.

Gave tuition on Saturday afternoon, and went straight down to Yishun after that. Sat in the coffee house with a nice cold caramel latte, my MP3 and my dearest MATERIAL SCIENCE tutorial. Darn the wretched phase diagrams. 2D-3/4 axis graphs with lines ALL over the place. Easily 10 calculations can be done it. I went half bald there, and broke the Boeing pencil Alv gave me when we were in sec2/3. I had it with me for 7/8 years and I broke it whilst doing tutorials. How nice right? Depressed to hard on the button by the side and the whole thing sunk in. It’s rooted there permanently now. URgh.
My mess at the coffee house. Got so bored that I started taking pictures.

Caramel latte, pure choc, and a yummy little piece of cake.

Packed up earlier and went down to church, having enough of the balding effects tutorials have on me. Helped set up the place and saw the worship team rehearse. Then went to the other room to play the guitar for a while. It’s been a really long while since I’ve last touched the classical guitar. It was Christmas if I recall correctly. At Ott’s place. Stairway to Heaven still sounds nicer on the classical.

The discussions ended at 10 and we had supper. I guess, you now know what you can tell him ya? Remember, it takes 2 hands and clap. ONE hand can’t clap anything. (try recall me doing that one hand clapping thingy, and the guy who was supposedly staring from behind) And I liked the walk/drive back home. Really. =)

And so, today marks the last of this week. Great game in the morning. Tengda and his GF came. Was surprised that she actually PLAYS ball. Tian, really… too bad. You should have been there. You would have met your match. But we had fun all in hall. My leg hang in there as well. Which was good. It felt REALLY good thrashing those ignorant, impolite, arrogant punks. 7-1. how’s that for us being stupid? I shot 2 over your overgrown head you ditz. Haha. Alright alright. Pardon me.

Gotta know that Mike moved out with his fiancĂ©e to AMK and they’re gonna have a house warming soon. Gonna get him a rice cooker. Hahah. Anyone wants to chip in? =)

Went walking around in the afternoon and got a some stuff. New socks, new triangles, and a new Chinese brush with a small bottle of black ink. Thinking of writing some stuff when I’ve got the time. Or maybe even draw. But think doing that on A4 paper would be quite yucky. Shall drop by Bras Besar.

Sat in at the same coffee place again and tried doing Physics this time round. Not so bad I guess. Motivation from last night’s encouragement when we were just walking by the ‘satellite dish’ building. Thanks!

Went for service in the evening. Tried asking someone to come along but didn’t work. If you would, I think you should give it another try. =) it’s different. I’m serious. Do consider alright?

So here I am now. Back in the room with 4 walls, plenty of clothes and papers and books lying around. Just had subs and I only have got ONE cookie. Why does she insist that there’s TWO??

Anyways, have a great week ahead everyone!

Just before I stop typing, just wanna leave a thought for you guys to ponder. Do think about it.

How do you think you want to live your life? How do you know that the way you want to live your life is the best?

If you don’t, then here’s what I’ve learnt. If you want to know how to live, you must learn how you want to die. Think about it. Seriously.

God bless!

Monday, March 5

THE week.

Someone stole my chocs. They're missing.

Wow. One week’s over just like that. there goes my recess. Completed what I set out to accomplish. But it seemingly felt that I could have done more. Especially the revision part. Spent more time bumming around than sitting down and studying. Not good… not good.

Nonetheless, it was a good I should say. Starting off with the really nice Tuesday where things start to seem quite interesting. Started off with coffee and engineering maths with JH, tuition with Phyllis, and the blatant late afternoon chocolate shopping in Taka. Royce was a good choice I guess, though I’ve not tasted any of it myself. Was rather shabbily dressed at that time, but owells. Who cares. =)

Dropped by MFPS with mum’s van and went back home. Took dad’s car and dropped by AMK after everything. It was nice. Really nice. And er, well… interesting. Drove the expressways and dropped by Jo’s the give her the card I wanted to give her since the CNY but didn’t had the chance. I like your specs. Really. Doesn’t make you look toot la. You look rather… creative. =) like some sorta artist. COOL.

Drove back to school with really nice company on the phone. Did some tutorials and packed the room. Grabbed my lappy and drove by Eric’s place for a while. It was 1am in the morning and the PIE reminded me the speed tracks you see in the arcade racing machines.

Spent Wednesday mugging at the library, trying VERY hard to do the double and triple integrals. It really SUCKS. Yes I’m complaining again. How nice. Almost went bald in the library. Went stairs climbing in the evening. Couldn’t jog cause of the rain. 80 stories. Dang I didn’t time myself. The view at the top was good, and the constant msgs coming in. Hehe. Guess that’s what’s been pushing me all the way.

Went back to school on Thursday and well… seriously contemplated dropping by MF. But, owells. Something just put me off.

Then came Friday. Met up with SY and Eric for lunch, then took a ride from Eric to AH. Was talking about bikes and school stuff along the way. Really appreciate the ride. if not, most likely I would be caught in the down pour.

Went along with the physio, and saw the doc eventually. So my report says that I’ve got a cruciate anterior ligament, a damaged but intact posterior one, traces of fluid round the knee, and meniscus debris somewhere along the side. Ends up it’s my choice now, if the op is to happen. if it does, rehab will be for half a year, and I would be on braces for about a month. Basically the muscles would go to waste for that period of time, and I would most likely turn into a tv junky. If not, no more pivoting with my knee, no more TKD, no more basketball, no more sprinting, no more tennis, no more breaststrokes for swimming. So I guess… it’s quite obvious huh?

Met up with Ber late night and the funniest thing happen. it was rather embarrassing when people started asking me how was London, and someone actually suggested that I’ve been waiting since secondary school. It was hilarious. But I hope things are clarified. Had a good talk, and yes, maybe that’s why we can click! Haha. because we’re like the way we are, so we click. 5 years k? 5 years. =)

Saturday morning was for tuition, and the afternoon was for a little mugging, which was exactly productive. Only managed half a tutorial, then shooted out of the house, thinking I was gonna to be late, only to be put off by an hour. =p But it was alright. Really. =) I kept myself entertained ‘walking around’ and reading my book. Thanks for dinner and beer. So do you now know the difference between light and dark beer? Haha. guess not.

So you’re sponsoring me my bag right? Hehe. THANKS! And hey, I like your shoes. Have I told you that already? *grins*

Went off early to meet up with my cousins and Wen De. It was great. I didn’t know we could really crap so much. Though I felt really bad for having Macs as early-morning supper. Guilt. GUILT.

Sunday was… wow. Well, though only 6 turned up, we had fun at the court. Well, some people were disappointed by the attendance, but I’m certainly pleased that we could at least play. Be happy with what you have I guess.

Spent sometime talking to my folks and gave Eric his birthday present. So SO glad that he liked the book. I thought he would be disappointed by it or what. I guess Peter Pan really does wonders! =)

Met up the RT in the afternoon to mug a little. Well, completed the other half of the tutorial I couldn’t finish on Saturday, and spent the rest of the time yakking away. Someone was half blur, and very easily conned. I was ‘warned’ and ‘threatened’ by her little ‘mishaps’. How nice. Hope you enjoyed your mango drink. =) and I think we should try the photo hunt again sometime. This time, wear your specs.

Off to church in the evening, and well, I was really glad to be there. The serenity and peace that I felt. Thank God. =) another week ahead, more angels and devils to deal with.

And so, to sum off the week, had dinner at the Marina Square HK cafĂ©. Toasts, pork chop spaghetti, and 2 mugs of iced milk tea. What more can I ask for? How about a glimpse of the fire works and the rather embarrassing bus ride back. I’m glad that I found the balls to do what I did during Christmas.

Hope everything’s fine for everyone out there. Well wishes to everyone, especially to the one at academy, the one at the ulu lala land, the one having MOOnday blues, the one having sorethroat and too much male-oriented problems, the one having crazy serotonin levels in the head, the one having ulcers and plenty of assignments, the one with 3 mid-sem tests this week (me inclusive), and the one who’s having a headache right now and need to be shouting at 30 little monsters.

I see soft-toys...

I think I’m kinda mad. Well, not ‘angry’ mad, but more like ‘crazy’ mad. Walked all the way back from Carol’s. Think that’s quite a distance. Well, I guess I needed that time for some quiet thinking.

YES, I am having my recess now. Well, this ain’t no 40minute recess. (RIGHT? Sheng?) It’s a one week break from studies, and a relax time for us. Well, SUPPOSEDLY one week break for us. Most of us end up getting more stressed during the week. Me inclusive. All the webcasts, tutorials and test preparations… URGH. But still, NO, I don’t wanna switch roles with you. I suck at what you do. Hahah.

--

Well, it’s been quite a while since I’ve literally ‘heard’ from you. Deeply appreciate the call. Really thank you. Must have been quite late over there ya? Calling everyone on your Singapore phone list? =) Thanks for remembering.

--

Went jogging with dad on the second day of the celebrations when everyone was over. It felt good to be running beside him. Remember how I used to admire his stamina and stride, now it’s the other way round. How time has just slipped and past by. Now, I’ve gotta slow down for dad. It’s a certain kind of emotion and feeling that propels me to feel proud, and at the same time, sad.

Well, though lacking the finesse, dad’s determination is quite apparently strong. No matter how tired, how bad his knees hurt, he ran. And ran. Just to keep up and complete the distance we set ourselves to accomplish.

Hats off him.

--

So how’s it over there at the big big ulu ulu la la land? =) Our apologies for not the ‘un-opened’ cafĂ©. Hope that pasta was good. All the funny talk and stuff. PE’s little bumps, walking round BJ looking at CD’s, shoes and women’s panties… all part of the evening.

Not to forget ‘tang shui’ at Liang Seah. Well, I know Ber pronounced it another way, which was quite funny. Anyone remember how it goes? Haha. Iced milk tea with chin chow, durian pudding, bitter strawberry, pomello with ice, yuan yang (almond… urhg.) and Chun Ming’s rice and honey drink. It was nice. Really. Though someone was really stuck onto the TV. =P

It’s amazing how we got everyone to sign the card. Under the table, toilet breaks. We certainly are opportunistic huh?

I know you like the card, and I’m quite sure that you love the hippo to pieces. Took us quite a certain amount of walking effort to get everything together. Quite tormenting for my not-so-good legs, but the end result is good huh?

All the best. Hope to hear from you soon! =)

--

To dear madm,

Hope the crumpler serves you well. Now I’m inspired to get one myself. Brown or gray? Haha. Anyways, all the best to you for you training. I don’t know when you’ll be seeing this, but when you do, *hugs*.

Penguin needs a name. And I thought strapping a seat-belt across was really cute. Saw the china guy smiling as he walked past? Bet you didn’t. Should have taken a photo.

--

I can’t address you here by how I would usually do cause that’s gonna cause quite a stir and contro

versy. But anyways, indeed, yellow shirts, blue jeans and sling bags are quite scandalous. Haha. It was really uncanny!

Hope that ‘draft’ was good enough for you. I’m not quite sure if it’s helpful enough. But I certainly think that you need more materials to support your paper.

Thanks for the coffee. So I’ve treated once, you’ve once. Next one’s on me. And thanks for the lamination. Though I think I need to get it done again if it’s gonna stay for long. =)

Not to forget, three months. Even somehow I think it won’t happen, cause I’m suspecting that my op would be soon. Haha. So I was thinking that we might have to push the deal back a little. To be fair right? =) Anyways, I’ve thought of what I want for your part of the deal if I ever succeed. Not gonna tell now. Let the suspense rock. =)

And no, I’m not getting rings on my ears. NEVER. No diamonds, no ring. Thanks.

--

“shi zi lu kou” was great. Got to eat some nice food and had fun. Well, except for the song singing in the middle of Toa Payoh where EVERYONE’s watching. Haha. We could have won the thing. But thought that since we’re there, might as well make full use of the time we had and enjoy ourselves. It was fabulous. Oh, Bryan came along too. =)

--

I’m busy waging wars with myself. Who’s gonna stop the fight for me? Or shall I just keep fighting inwards. Till all the angels and devils die.

--

I want a crumpler, the CD’s, and a pair of new shoes. But most of all, I want my leg back.

Super delayed post

Erms. This is supposed to come up on Saturday.. but it didn’t happen cause something was wrong with the server.. owells.. =)
--

YES YES YES!!! I’ve completed my lab report!!! Well, people say that I’m gan-cheong cause it is only due in 2 weeks time. But hey, might as well get it over and done with right? All those microstructures… Urgh… even dreamt of it last night. Haha.

Up next shall be life sciences. 6 whole lectures to study coming Thursday. Why can’t they just put it the week AFTER CNY? There goes all the holiday mood. Pissed.

--

Happy happy happy lunar new year to all my dear friends who celebrate it out there! May you have a prosperous and happy and fruitful new year!

Especially to those who are going to new places, may you have a blessed and safe trip!
--

Have had two reunion dinners so far… one with the church guys, one with my family. Both steamboats, plenty of healthy stuff. Was glad that our friends from China came for our youth gathering/dinner. Gonna have ‘shi zi lu kou’ this coming Saturday… it’s gonna be fun. And guess what? It’s at Toa Payoh. Haha. Know that place almost inside out. =)

Dinner at home was… well… different. Shan’t elaborate here.

--

Coffee, hot chocolate, and a plate of potato wedges… I like that. I like the talk. And I really hope that you’ll be amongst the first to come when I’m in deep shit. Hah. Cause somehow I sense one big pile coming up real soon.

--

Black full-seed it shall be. Hopefully I can get it soon enough. No promises though. Are you free next weekend?

Well, have things blown over? And I’ve got no answer to your question. All I can say… is I don’t know. I feel bad, to a certain extent. For you, for myself. It’s a whole lot of stuff cramped up in a small skull. I’m sorry.

Like I said time and again… maybe I’m not deserving.

--

It’s so hard to be who you want to be ain’t it? Especially when the people around you are disapproving.

“Dare you to move. Salvation is here.”

I’ve taken the first step. But can I continue walking?

Tuesday, February 13

on a scale from 1-10.... 6 or 7

Knee’s not of the best condition right now. Will pull through, nonetheless.

Pain is Devil’s way of telling me that I’m dying;
It is also God’s way of telling me that I’m alive.

I’m glad that I’m alive. =)

--

Felt so tired in the afternoon that I plopped right into the bed after I turned on my lappy. I apologise for the super late reply. Ya… I should have set the status to ‘AWAY’. Anyways, glad that you found your tape! Fancy having it stuck on the ceiling huh? And that thing in the sewers? Sure you don’t want it back? =)

Have been mugging since this afternoon. This sudden urge to catch up with my material science. Already 2 setbacks this semester, trying and hoping that the 3rd one doesn’t come. Or maybe I’m asking too much from myself sometimes… not that smart to begin with… BCD from the As, a meager ‘entry to U’. Shucks. I’m entertaining negatives thoughts. ARGH.

One more test up tomorrow. Already read through everything once. Wonder how things will go.

Roomie’s out for steamboat with his course-mates. Said he’ll be back by 9 – it’s already 11. Not that I’m missing him, but wondering if he’s alright. Hopefully he’s not drunk. URGH.

Back to the notes and powerpoints. Ta.

--

Jo, hope you enjoyed your rest and feeling already much better! =)

--

Ms Scatterbrain.

Wow.

Monday, February 12

Monday afternoon.

I just left my laundry out to dry. And it seems that it’s about to rain really soon. Darn.

--

The weekend is over just like that. Saturday was spent tuitioning and mugging. Well, minimum mugging actually. I’m glad that I’ve got a positive influence on her kid. It’s nice to have parents calling and hurling compliments at you. It’s flattering, yet at the same time the invisible pressure increases. Owells.

Went down to Bishan park to take a look at the Scouts pioneering projects. The place was over flowing with Scouts and Cubs. Pioneering projects from HI and Catholic High were the most impressive (as usual). It was a war between the two schools.

There were really nice bridges and towers too.

Come to think of it, pioneering would be the pride of the younger Scouts. As compared to their peers from NCC or BB, pioneering skills certainly make the young Scouts stand out. It’s a test of discipline, team work and endurance. The staying out under the sun for hours and hours to construct something out of poles and ropes bonds them more than nothing else. The rope burns and silly ‘tie poh han to the tree!’ ethics certainly are memories they’ll keep for a very long time.

Thinking back, the small, medium, and huge projects we all made… it’s been quite an adventure. Hour-glass towers, monkey bridges, flying-foxes, and simple tripods… how time has passed. It is time for the younger generation now.

Went for physio last Friday and my leg muscles have never ached SO much. The many repetitions and increasing weights. I’m quite surprised at the strength of my legs. Maybe cause I’m heavier. Haha. Owells. Did some balancing exercises and endurance training. Then had current impulses sent through the muscles to improve growth. Weird sensations but quite an experience.

Can’t wait to get well.

--

Things haven’t really been going on really very smoothly huh? First’s the dumb math test. Then the leg. Got elbowed in the eye and I’ve got a bruise under my right eye. And now the Mat science test. Yes, it’s a B+. But it could have been so much better if I paid more attention to the details. Well, looking on the bright side, at least I’m conceptually correct.

No ber, I didn’t get hit cause I was disturbing another guy’s girl. Like I said, I was protecting a girl from another guy. =p

--

YES!! I’ve got a new ‘smell’. Thanks PE! I smell damn nice la… haha… Anyways, the 5 of you, please check your email really soon. I’m organizing the next gathering. Haha. YES ME AGAIN. =p

And Ling, yes I know how to write your Chinese name. =) Well, just for the record, you’ve got the ‘most-difficult-to-write’ character. The most strokes, the most not proportional. But hope it turned out well.

And Hoon, you got to stick your card on your wall in China I tell you.

I think we should ask CH out one of these days to whack him upside down, for that trick he pulled on us. 29th Feb. How smart.

--

Congratulations to the both of you. I’m not sure about Celest’s grade, but I’m sure proud of you. B3 for science… haha. That’s more than decent. Hope it’s what you’re expecting. Never mind the rest, you’ve done well. Congratulations! God bless you and may you pick the right path ahead of you. *hugs*

--

They've decided to use AGAPE. =) I'm touched.

--

YAAAY! It didn’t rain. Or rather, it’s not raining yet. DRY CLOTHES….! DRY FAST!!

Wednesday, February 7

I'm gonna get screwed.

Busy busy busy. We’re already into the fifth week of the semester and I still don’t really feel the sense of urgency I had last semester. GOSH I think I’m slacking. Tsk. But somehow, I’m always busy. And I wonder why.

--

Saw the specialist. Good news and not so good news. Not so good news – I’ve got an left anterior cruciate ligament. Good news, I can still walk and run and swim; just no pivoting for the time being. Could have been worse. Well, thank God. Really. The hamstrings are actually constantly firing and compensating the instability of the knee. And after some weird strength tests, they are actually as strong as the quads. How freaky is that. I’VE GOT POWERFUL HAMSTRINGS MAN. (If not for those hams, I probably won’t be able to run, or maybe walk much.)

Well, that’s not exactly something to be proud of though.

Oh, my right (good) knee has got a tendency to shift for about 2mm, which is normal. My left one has a shift of 13mm. That’s a whole freaking 1.3 CENTI-meter! Well, that’s 10 to the power of negative 2 - CENTIMETERS!

Hope the MRI and OP comes soon. Wanna get it fixed and done.

Anyways, thank you people, for all your care and concern. They’re all heart felt. =) Your words of encouragement, moral support and prayers are deeply appreciated. Thank you!

--

Wonder how it feels like to have screws in the leg. Haha. I’m screwed. Literally. Or rather, I’m gonna get some screwing. ;)

--

Well, I lost my phone just yesterday. Some immoral person just took from my bag. It’s a freaking LOUSY phone with a totally scratched surface, and it’s been used for almost 3 years! Come on! Why not choose a better one? Urgh. There goes all my contacts and nice messages that I’ve been keeping all these years. Maybe it’s time to let go of them. But there’s just so much sentiments. Sighs.

Well, on the brighter side of things, I’ve got a new phone. A hundred and fifty bucks. Not that I had a choice. At least this time round, I can take proper photos with my phone. Yeah. Maybe you’re right Ott, it is God’s little gift for me.

--

Met a few people I’ve not seen for a very long time. Siew Hui, Pei Shan, Cheryl (it was funny. Right PE?), Andrew, Raihan, Ignatius. Good to know that they still recognize me, and I do them.

Well, there’re people I’m trying to see. But the opportunity just doesn’t come. TSK. And hey, I’m not sly/scheming/deceitful. It’s being smart/opportunistic/and of course, it is pure brilliance. =p

--

YES. We’ve finally went out TOGETHER. Every single one of us. SIX in all. Yes, six, not five. It was great. Really. Though it didn’t really started out right, people being late and tempers flaring and stuff, I’m really really glad that we enjoyed ourselves at the end of the day.

Initial destination was abandoned due to the crowd. Ended up Sakae. Well, that’s where we saw Cheryl. Haha. Sat our table the food started rolling in. PE was full in a while, Ling couldn’t finish her Chawamushi, Hoon made DISGUSTING looking wasabi + soy sauce (which PE describes as shit), Alvin had to eat the shit, and Ber was feeling hot all the time and made funny noises while eating.
Not all words ending with “ing” are action words. Hehe. There’re plenty of examples in this post. Should have spent some time to thinking about it, instead of me doing that dumb “struggling” in studies “action”.

It was great to just sit and chat. Well, we got to know someone was playing some sticky gun and got burnt, another had nice colours on her hair, and another suggested that soya sauce in chawas are good, but the one with nice colours couldn’t taste the difference.

Took the train back and wow, “how did these few hours flew past just like that?” I thought.

Did some funny things on our way back and damn, it was a failed mission. Haha.

Anyways, I hope you guys like the cards. Yes PE, yours is the nicest. Maybe because it’s symmetrical. But I’m VERY sure that Alvin has got the best photo. No doubt about that. Right bro? And yes, you can continue pondering why the heck you actually agreed to take a photo like that. With all the make up and stuff.

Dang you look sexy!

--

I don’t understand why they do such things. Why can’t they just be more sensitive/sensible and understanding? They were once so close… now they seem so far. All the respect is gone. I’m so gonna be superficial when the time comes. An act. A performance.

Why?

--

There’s no one who can love you the way I do. No human can love you more than I do. But you chose to leave, taking bits of me away.

Tuesday, January 30

the little things

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for you souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

--

Maybe it is indeed what you call a quarter-life crisis. Just pray that it blows over soon. It feels crappy.

--

I’m gonna see a specialist this Friday. Chances are they’re gonna operate on it, and replace the missing/damaged stuff with my calf muscle fibers, AND not to forget a couple of screws.

Maybe it’s time I got it done once and for all.

I’m really glad and thankful for a supportive family. Thank God.

Guess what? It’s the first time I’ve got quite a few under me. It’s flattering. It’s nice to know that they like me. But will I be able to pull through? And why can’t I do the same for my own brother? WHY?

And I’m taking so DARN long to finish up the Chronicles. So many names…

--

I’m not sure if you enjoyed yourself. But I certainly thought that talking over ‘screwdrivers’ and Irish coffees was good. I’m glad to have you around, and thank you for being there. I’m sorry about your lost accessories and footwear. Maybe it’s time to get new shoes huh? :)

I apologise for the smoky environment at the Cable. Hope that work was fine for you today. Your boss still playing with little mei meis? =)
--

2 person set meal, kopi-c peng GAO, and teh-c peng. Snapple bananas, nutrisoy. It was a good night out. Thank you for the post card. Thanks for the ride. I don’t know how else I can thank you.

Don’t throw the towel(s) in. In anyways I don’t think you can.

And……. I wanna apologise for what I had done. It sounds stupid and perhaps pointless…… but I’m sorry.

You’re a photon, and losing you is not an option.

--

Thank you for the compliment. My being “patient” has certainly made me ‘bloated’. I await the rest of your comments. Bloat me. =p

And oh, you really have an issue with topless guys huh? Or just ugly, un-cute topless ones? =)

--

I guess we’ve got to search for another kakee. Thank you so much for messaging me. I have to admit that I was rather surprised to receive your sms. All the best for your mugging! =)

Anyway, we were just wondering if you guys wanna hang out this coming Sat late night at Holland V. I’m thinking of asking faiz, Neo and HanS. Interested?

You can sms me again. Hee.

--

If you think you wanna change, and if you think you’re changing for the better, then perhaps you just should. There’s nothing I can do, not that you want me to do anything, but I’m certain it will do you more good than bad.

Maybe I have no right to say anything in the first place.

--

Looking forward to the weekends.

Photos

Taken at the Christmas party.
JP was supposed to just take the numbers. But he snapped everything.
Hence the spastic look. And yes I decided to upload it. =p

The better looking photo.

War-cry. Ben looks DARN fierce.

Nicely taken.

"mmmmm..."
"HhhUH?"

plans plans plans

Am supposed to be at the Funfest to help clean up, but guess they’re still fooling around. Shall go down in a while. Maybe you are right. I AM anti-social. Not making the effort to mingle around with them. I ain’t that ‘friendly’ I suppose. Gee, what’s wrong with me.

Had quite a few long talks this week. Talks with important people in my life. I am most certainly touched by you guys, and also at the same time I hope I have moved you in some ways. Life’s never smooth-sailing, but always remember to keep faith; for things one day will go your way. And you very well know it.

Tutorials are really turning into a chore this semester. Mathematics is really killing me, and we’re only into the first chapter. Physics is getting tougher by the moment, with so many concepts to grasp within this short period of time. Life science is a totally non student-friendly module if you’ve got not bio background, and I don’t. Things are already starting to pile up and I’m bracing for it.

Things haven’t really been turning out as planned since the beginning of the week. Getting cancelled and making major boo-boos. Nonetheless, I’m glad we still made it despite the failure of our little blue-tooth. It was great… really. Hor fun was good and so was white grapes and ‘teh peng’ (MS word refuses to let me type t-e-h.. keeps changing it to t-h-e).

Wonder what lies for me during the weekends. I hope my plans don’t get screwed up again. And yes, to the one who’s been counting down everyday, the weekends are almost here. Hang in there! =)

--

6ists, please read your mail. Thanks.

Oh PE, I read your blog. This time, you get to see ALL of us if everyone makes it. And you can bug Alvin to make one more fondue next time. Miss you too! *saluting the creative director!*

Ling, thanks for the photos. Appreciate it.

--

Jo, do you play mahjong? Neo, Mark and I are looking for khakees. Or HS? =) msg me!

--

So where am I now? Where do I stand? Where do I go?

Is this a start of quarter-life crisis? Is it time to start worrying? Worry about things that I have never thought of before?

Why are these questions popping out now? What’s this I am feeling?

Maybe I talk too much. I should shut up.

Maybe I’m too nice.

Maybe I just can’t be bothered.

Maybe there’re no maybes.

Can I be at the receiving end of things too?

--

XOXO. This means hugs and kisses. Something I’ll never forget.

Everyone loves a fairytale. We love witnessing fairytales; and love it even more when fairy godmother decides to bring some fairytales of our own into our lives.

I have my near misses of ‘fairytalish’ happy-endings. So have you. I’m sorry that your fairytale didn’t come true. For all in the world that I have, I am really sorry. I know you’re piece of happy-ending will come, and God will be there for you. *hugs*

“Always fascinated me that you’ll bend into the things you dislike.”

Thank you. But if I had a choice, I would rather do the things I like. Sometimes circumstances bend a person beyond threshold. I’m just pushing my limits.

I guess we are lucky in our own way. God blessed we are.

Please, keep me updated. I really want to know what is going on, and help if I can.

“Believe in me believing in you.”

One can never be more blessed than having someone like you. *hugs*

Jacket alteration and the ever-postponed shopping should be on the way.

“We’re not people who let their friends go.”

No, I’ll never let you go. Lest if you want to.

“I cannot make it. I’m not as disciplined as you.”

Tell yourself you can’t make it and you won’t. And my strength doesn’t come from me. It comes from above.

“Take a step at a time, and see how it goes”

I’ve heard this before, and things don’t work that way. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I’m all prepared, and ain’t really hoping.

“But I thought I told you before?”

Yes you did. And it slipped my mind. I’m really sorry. I guess I’m upset cause it didn’t occur to me that it was now.

Indeed how fast time past. You only live once.

It’s a revolutionary theory nonetheless. But how much does it mean to me?

Monday, January 15

I was supposed to post this last week.

Something to share with the ale drinkers out there. =)

From askmen.com:

Tidbit #1
In November of 1999, The New England Journal of Medicine stated that light to moderate beer drinkers would decrease their chances of suffering a stroke by 20%. They also stated that those who drink one beer a day compared to those who drink one beer a week experience no difference in reducing stroke risks.

Tidbit #2
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (May 1999) reported that consuming moderate amounts of beer would lower one's chances of coronary heart disease by 30-40%, compared to those who don't drink at all. (Beer contains a similar amount of 'polyphenols' -- antioxidants -- as red wine and 4-5 times as many polyphenols as white wine).

Tidbit #3
Alcohol has also been attributed to increasing the amount of good cholesterol (HDL) in the bloodstream, as well as helping to decrease blood clots.

Tidbit #4
Beer contains vitamin B6, which prevents the build-up of the amino acid homocysteine, that has been linked to heart disease. Those of us who have high levels of homocysteine are usually more prone to an early onset of heart and vascular disease.

Tidbit #5
A new study performed at the TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute in Utrecht indicates that those who drink beer had no increase in their homocysteine level, but those who drank wine or liquor had an increase of up to 10%.

Tidbit #6
Beer provides a 30% increase in vitamin B6 into the blood plasma -- something that neither wine nor any other liquor can do.

Tidbit #7
Beer is both fat-free and cholesterol-free.

Tidbit #8
Beer has a relaxing effect on the body thereby reducing stress and helping you sleep better.

Tidbit #9
Beer has proven to have positive effects on elderly people. It helps promote blood vessel dilation, sleep and urination.

An average beer contains the following:
· 0 mg cholesterol
· 0 g fat
· 13 g carbohydrate
· 25 mg sodium
· protein, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and vitamins B, B2, and B6
· alcohol

-

But hey! Moderation is the key here. Our liver can only process one can of beer in about an hour’s time, so too much of it at one time ain’t good! And not to forget, excessive binging causes obesity due to high calorie content. Over drinking would most likely cause obesity and all the other diseases such as heart failure would follow suite.

So enjoy the benefits by drinking wisely! =)

PS: I’m NOT promoting the drinking of alcoholic drinks here. I’m trying to let you understand the benefits of MODERATE drinking for all the drinkers out there. CHEERS!

--

We really have no idea what on earth you are doing. And yes, I do feel USEFUL and USED, now that someone had mentioned it to me. But I’m hoping that YOU are the one who sees this. Not someone else. Stop treating us like some abandoned pets, where you would only cuddle as and when you feel like. We need love too.

--

There’re many things that I don’t agree with. And I can’t make any sense out of it.

Are some things really meant to be? I didn’t know it would be so hard to change. I guess, nothing much has changed, hasn’t it?

How long would it last?

Stretching my memory

It’s been so long since I last updated. So much had happened and my memory doesn’t stretch as far as I want it to be.

Memory search.

1.Food was great. Really. You should have your own cafĂ©/restaurant. I’ll be happy to clean the toilets for you. Thanks for the mini-tumbler/bottle. I’m already using it. Hope Nalgene’s good for you too. Oh, Monopoly was hilarious. Especially with HS around. Sher’s interestingly funny too.

2.Busy with subject registration and time table planning. It’s really crap and makes me think that ‘bidding’ for modules ain’t that bad either.

3.Oh, we got our results too. 3.84. Am satisfied, but certainly could have done better. But I shall not complain. Bs for Econs, Maths, and Physics. B+s for EC, Computing. A- for Chemistry and Lab. Really thanking God for this. Amen. Guess all those horrible monsters have been beaten flat huh?

4.Had dinner at home. Finally. Good food, happy times. Hoegaarden with dad. What more can I ask for?

5.Walked round town with Ber/PE/Ling. Bought everything BUT the shoes she set to buy. How amazing. Got myself a pair of jeans from U2.

6.Overcame one the strongest temptations I’ve met. 500bucks and 2handphones for my taking. Just glad that it went back to the rightful owner. Praise Lord.

7.Lunch at food court. It’s a start. I know you’re uncomfortable. But like you said, we went through it.

8.Guest in hall. Appreciate it that you came all the way down. Nice photos! And I don’t look like a bear. Do I? =p

9.Basketball with hall seniors at Bedok. Played 2 round and rain poured. Guess they were impressed with my nifty passing and shots. Maybe I can make it to the hall team next time season. BAH. Maybe not. Shall stick to rug and polo.

10.Primary school visit. Got directed the St Nic’s, which was the wrong school. Got help from the staff there and got to the right place. Thank goodness the teachers I wanted to see were ALL there. Mrs Martha Wong, Mrs Serene Ho, Mrs Tay and Mr Ng. Had lunch with Mrs Wong and took a couple of photos. It felt amazing to see them again..

11.Tuition with Des. Helped keep the clothes. Hilarious I tell you. Alv and Hoon, you should hear about this. Tell you when we meet. =)

12.Dinner, new mahjong table inoculation and Tim Sum supper. Discovered that Ling ain’t as nocturnal as we are. Needs beauty sleep and shuts down unwittingly after midnight.

13.Tuition with Yan and invitation to their church. Shall find time soon.

14.Lunch at Pasta Mania. Glad that we talked. Guess we’re not that different after all. Saw someone I didn’t expect to see. Didn’t know how to react. Avoided any eye contact. (If you’re guessing Glen, it’s not.)

15.Finally found the MLTR album. Took me so long to find it. Ott, thanks for helping me ask around. Supposed to borrow from your bro if I’m not mistaken.

16.Seminar in church today about the history of the Gospels. Interesting and intriguing. Had dinner at 925 with the peeps and then arcade after that. PHOTO HUNT. =)

--

School’s starting next week. Feeling sucky. Mugging’s gonna commence once again. New demons this time round. Fiends. Monsters. Whatever you call them. It just never ends.

Wondering how the migration is going for you two uniform wearing people. One green and one BLUE (sorry I mistook it as white). Hope it is good.

--

We really hope you know what you are doing. I really don’t wish to see a “See, I told you so” scenario to happen.

--

Pray for the best; prepare for the worst. God bless. *hugs*

I'm getting nervous

Yes! It feels good to type on my lappy. Finally.

It’s been a really muddy day today. Had to wash my shoes twice after rug training. Foot sinks into the field if one stood for too long on it. Did some catching up with Ben. He and his never ending admiration for Prison Break.

“You should be a civil engineer. Build the next prison and go PRISON BREAK!”

WTH. Thanks Ben. Haha. I’ll think about it.

Dinner was great last night. Too much carbo like Hoon said. Well, whose fault was it? K la. It’s MY fault. I think we have 7 wings uneaten. Not forgetting the buns and Hor Fun + Yee MEE. Both which Ber was supposed to finish.

Wine was good and I suppose everyone liked it though Hoon kinda complained it was a little too strong smelling. Doesn’t matter cause there were people on ‘her side’. Pun pun pun.

Someone was just too comfortable and had legs on the chair whilst eating.

And not forgetting the longest gift exchange I’ve ever had. LONGEST. I’m quite certain it had got nothing to do with the even or odd numbers, but just probability doing its trick here.

Bodyshop food scrub, contact solution, mug and chocs, Topshop card, tea leaves with tea maker. Cool huh.

Bridge was yet another fantastic experience with people giving away ‘innocent’ clues.

Ms Yeo. See what you’ve missed. We missed you so much that we turned you into paper and started talking to you. Anyways, better get something nice for us from Aus! We deserve it. =p

Staying in Singapore and not going for overseas for holidays have got its advantages. Apple tea from Jo, yummy almond chocs from Chuimei, keychain from Ber, truffles from Alv, and SOMETHING from Ling. That’s 5. Anyone else going overseas?? Do let me know. =)

My faith has once again been shaken.
I have to be strong, but it is so hard.
Especially when the one digging at it is someone so close.
Someone so close and so dear that the holes left behind are so deep.

--

Everywhere I turn, I bump into a wall.
This frustration goes on and it never ends.
I am not deserving: not deserving of this.
When would I learn? When would I wake up?

Time to let go. Time to move on.

--

I’m sorry for doing the things I’ve done.
I’m sorry for not doing the things I should have.

I’m a pain.
I’m a procrastinator.
Life’s quite a bitch at times.

You deserve better and I don’t.
You shouldn’t have, and so shouldn’t I.

To:

The one who’s down with stomach flu: Please rest well and get well soon. Plenty of water helps. Honey is a bonus. Try not to mess up the kitchen again. See you soon. If you get well that is. Oh, thank you for Friends!

The one who I call cus: Didn’t send any season greetings to you (and you didn’t too!). Have a great time hanging out with your pals. Take care! Oh, the book I got you is STILL with me.

The one cooking dinner this weekend: I am really sorry for last weekend. I’m really very sorry. I need some deciphering for your blog. Can you help? It’s an endless stream of Da Vinci codes. Or is it meant to be left that way? Anyway, bringing Hoe. They drink?

The one working at Cathay: Thanks for getting the tickets. SMU sure had helped me save two x50cents. Haven’t got anything from the dollar-shop yet. Poot poot!!

The two whom I used to call Sergeants: Am certainly happy and thrilled to see you two so… LOVING! May God bless you two with bliss and happiness and fulfilled dreams! See you this weekend.

The one I saw on the bus: I don’t think you’ll read this, but it really took me a lot of balls to do what I did. It’s a start, nonetheless. God bless you too.

The one whom I’ve went to the museum with: It was great! Though wet slippers and soaked shoes ain’t the best kind of footwear we wanted to have whilst walking round. But it was great. Really. Xoxo.

The one complaining to me today ‘bout work: Maybe he/she’s got his/her reasons. You worked out your schedule yet? Oh, help me wish her a happy birthday when you see her on Sat. Thanks! Happy working! Hope the rain hasn’t been drenching you these days. Oh, are there extra log cakes? Can I have some? =)

Those who are collecting their results TODAY: Good luck and all the best. I really cannot imagine what kinda grades I’m gonna get. Hope we’ll all make it. I don’t wanna see Yu Siufung or Peter Chong for the wrong reasons next sem. Fingers crossed!
